$$$ The Split $$$

What is the split?

70/30

What do we mean 70/30? You take home 70% of everything you sell. CTL Preschool Family Ministry keeps 30%. For example if you sell an item for $1.00, you get .70 and we keep .30.

Want to make 80%? See our section on "Volunteer Perks" and find out how!

Why do we get 30%? Cause we are doing all the work and all the selling. We provide the space, the time, the advertising, and the means to sell. Unlike a garage sale, you do not have to be here to sell your stuff. You drop off your items, then pick up your unsold items and wait for the money to come in the mail.

What do we do with the 30%? We support different areas and projects throughout the church and the community. We have put up a fence around the toddler playground, bought robes for the Assistant Ministers, helped the Youth Group go to Nationals, and totally redecorated the Nursery so it looks like a fun place to stay instead of a hospital room.

The money from the Fall/Winter sale bought a half-door for the Nursery to aid with the security and safety of the children, we purchased two new TV's so the congregation doesn't get sick watching videos in Sunday School anymore (the vertical hold wasn't holding) and we made quite a few nice "New Mommy" baskets.

This time, we want to put carpet in the nursery so the little ones can crawl on clean soft floors. And we are still looking into heavy duty picnic tables for the whole church to use.

Is my 30% tax deductible? Yes, you are making a tax-deducxtible donation to a non-profit organization. You will receive a statement reflecting so when you get your check.

Speaking of tax deductions- any donations you make to the Peace Place Battered Women's Shelter are also tax-deductible and you will receive a statement from them. You may choose to donate all of your unsold items so you don't have to come to the pick-up or you may pick-and-choose what to donate when you pick up your unsold items. Either way, you will receive a receipt.
